We firmly believe that photos should live offline, in the real world. The whole point of photography is to have a visual aid to help you relive important moments and to tell your stories. That’s why, even though all our photography options come with digital files, we really encourage clients and couples to make prints of their photos. Otherwise, they’ve bought some pricey facebook profile pictures.
The same goes for albums! While digital files require continued upkeep to counter the possibility that their technology could change or unexpectedly fail, an album remains the same as the years pass. Albums are particularly great because they can include lots and lots of photos, take up less space than wall prints, are easy to carry around to show off, and look and feel like an heirloom to be passed down to future generations or viewed over and over again for decades.
We were so happy to find our new album supplier, Finao. They make gorgeous, high quality albums, with tons of options, for really reasonable rates. The first album we have to debut is of Tarra and Ashley’s wedding at NYC City Hall in 2012. The book is 5.5 x7 inches, so it’s really easy to carry around, around the size of a kindle.
The style is the Finao “Playbook,” which has thin, but very sturdy, pages made with real photographic prints, and a lay-flat binding that lets us do near-seamless double page spreads. This style is a more budget-friendly option than some of the other album options on the market, but the quality is really remarkable. We were impressed with how vibrant the color is-they really made our photos look their best!
Small albums like this one come with a cloth charm bag to protect the book when it’s not being used, and the larger albums come with a gift box for storage. The cover is “Glitter Ken,” a metallic vegan leather in blue and silver, and their names are imprinted on the cover in silver foil. Because the book is on the smaller side, we tried to keep the design very simple, with one or two photos per page. This book is absolutely stunning, and we are so proud to share it!
